Covid-19| France lockdown until 1st December

 





In effort to halt the spread of coronavirus France is under a new country lockdown from today Friday 30th October 2020 until the 1st of December 2020.

In his speech to the nation on Wednesday night President Emmanuel Macron said the difference between the second and the first wave was that “all regions had reached the alert level”.

During the first wave, the worst hit regions were the Grand Est and Île-de-France, while the west of the country largely managed to avoid a wave of cases.

But by the end of October the epidemic has impacted the whole country. In total, 92 départements out of 101 are highly vulnerable to the spread, according to the latest data from Santé Publique France.





This second containment will last at least until December 1, warned the president. Like the last lockdown non essential service providers, such as bars and restaurants, will have to close. But the president gave hope to the shopkeepers, telling them that if the situation improves in 15 days,

Travelling to France
European External border will remain closed for the same period but movement within the union will be allowed if necessary.
