Manu Dibango dies of Coronavirus in France





His fans called him “Papa Manu”, “The Dean” or simply “Manu”. On March 18, a press release posted on his Facebook page announced that he had been hospitalized following a coronavirus infection. The words were meant to be reassuring (“He is resting and recovering in serenity”). Manu Dibango, saxophonist and veteran of African musicians in France, died on Tuesday 24 March, his family announced. He was 86 years old.
