The kenyan new ambassador to France H.E. Amb. Professor Judi WAKHUNGU is already in her office since last week, seven months after appointment, replacing Salma Ahmed.

Judi Wangalwa Wakhungu is a Kenyan who was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta as Ambassador to France on 26 January 2018.

Professor Judy Wakhungu is the daughter of former Kenyan Vice President Moody Awori. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from St. Lawrence University in New York in 1983. She also holds a Master of Science degree in petroleum geology from Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada, awarded in 1986. Her Doctor of Philosophy degree in energy resources management from was obtained from Pennsylvania State University in 1993.(sic Wikipedia)

She is part of the new generation of ambassadors that the kenyan government want to be professional thus offering them a training at the Foreign Service Academy in Nairobi.

The three months training is very intensive and it entails things like etiquette and protocol in diplomatic service, rules and regulations for international relations and how to communicate. Some of them come from a political culture and we have to assist them adjust to this new role,” quoted Ambassador Solomon Nabukwesi who heads the academy in Nairobi.

Kenyans in living in France hope that they will establish better relationship with the new ambassador. Time will tell.
